Cantemus! will explore sung expressions of faith from well-loved Catholic
composers. Artistic Director Doreen Kelly Alsen has gathered together pieces
that take us on a musical and spiritual journey through five centuries. The
journey begins a cappella, with pieces from Jacob Handl, Guiseppe Verdi, and
Francis Poulenc. The Finger Lakes Strings accompany the crowning pieces: Antonio
Vivaldi’s “Beatus Vir” and “Dixit Dominus” by Baldassare Galuppi.
This afternoon of beautifully arranged sacred music will benefit the All
Saints Church music program. Meet the Chorale and the All Saints choir at a
reception following the concert.
